Message from the PresidentMike Reynolds
“Day after day, ordinary people become heroes through extraordinary and selfless actions to help their neighbors.” – Sylvia Matthews Burnwell

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to count our blessings. At the MBCEA we have much to be thankful for! Membership continues to grow. The Association is strong and hard at work developing new programs. We have active participation from many on things like Conference planning and Chapter leadership. Others are active on project teams like those working on the new IMP video and Temporary Bracing Guidebook. We couldn’t do it without you. On behalf of the National Board of Directors, please accept my deepest gratitude for all you do to make the MBCEA the go-to organization for the metal building industry.

Speaking of active participation, plans are well underway for our new temporary bracing video and guidebook. Click here for a draft guide overview. This is a serious project that will make a huge difference for all of us – prescriptive options, engineered options, sample plans, etc. I am so impressed with the work that the  project team is doing. Hats off to Keith Wentworth (Dutton & Garfield), Tim and Dylan Seyler (S&S Structures), Tom Frahm (Butler), Andy Lee (SFS), Andy Huber (A. L. Huber), Sean Smith (Thomas Phoenix), John Rolfes (CSD Engineering), Adam Friedman (CSD Engineering) and Jackie Meiluta (MBCEA).
The Temp Bracing Project Team still needs some more input. Download this brief questionnaire and answer as many of the questions as you can and send to Jackie. I know you all have good intentions – that you probably started this but never finished it. It’s a light week – do it now. Your input will ensure the guide is usable for all of us,  based on the way we work and the types of buildings we assemble.

As we head into the end of year, please keep an eye out for your membership renewal invoice via email from Sasha Graver. The MBCEA is a membership association with a mission to support the professional advancement of our contractor and erector members, and our industry. We are only as strong as our combined members. If you are already a member – thank you. I hope you appreciate the MBCEA as much as I do.  If you are not a member, I urge you to consider it now.

2018 marks our 49th Annual Conference and more importantly, our 50th Anniversary as an Association. Please plan on joining us May 2-4, 2018, in San Antonio for what will surely be a fantastic conference. MBCEA members will receive a 50% discount on registration fees in honor of our Anniversary. Click on Annual MBCEA Conference above for more information.
Thanks and Stay Safe.
